Programming and Software Consulting

Specializing in Credit Unions using Symitar's Episys™ platform

Nimcha Consulting is currently a one man operation; James Guarnotta. Having spent 15+ years working with Symitar software I am now back as a single entity to serve your Credit Union needs with a direct one on one relationship. I am the programmer you want when you know what you need but just cannot get it done yourself.

I started as a conversion programmer for Symitar Systems before moving to product development. After leaving Symitar in 2002 I have been a consultant and worked with numerous Credit Unions on a number of different projects.

  • Mergers - Unparalleled industry experience programming conversions and mergers. Originally using PL1 and more recently using Repgen, I have programmed over 30 conversions and mergers for CU's of all sizes. From less than $10 Million to over $1 Billion. The complexity is not your asset size but the data you are merging and that is where I can help.

  • Data Handling - Have written code to handle simple ASCII files to extremely complex packed binary/EBCDIC files. I can handle straight and simple one record data files, relating multiple single record files and even complex hierarchical files with mixed record sizes.

  • Web technologies - Over 10 years experience writing HTML/JavaScript in both three tierd applications as well as applications embedded into Symitar. Experienced with using XML data islands to dynamically build pages with very complex data interactions using JavaScript and DOM manipulation. Experienced with programming SQL. Experienced with ADSI programming.

  • Code review/mentoring - I was trained by the original Symitar founders, John Landis and Dave Held. I understand the standards to which the Symitar system was written and I still follow these fairly strict rules. Your CU does not need a hot shot programmer straight from college. You need someone able to write code that works, can be easily expanded upon for future work, and most importantly, can be turned over to a less experienced on staff programmer. Code Review Example That is why I am the programmer you are looking for.

  • Job optimizations - Are your Month End batch jobs running into the start of business the next day? I am experienced with how the system runs and can help troubleshoot your bottlenecks. And along with this I can also do a code review to find and fix code problems if that should be the issue.

I can help you with your rep gen needs at a price you can afford. Please give me a call.
